These are Mid-Century studio pottery penguin figurines by Worpsweder Keramik, handcrafted in Germany during the 1960s. The studio was based in Worpswede, a renowned artists' colony in Lower Saxony. These specific figures are beloved for their highly tactile, deeply ribbed texture and the striking organic contrast between the dark, weathered clay body and the lighter, honed slip on the bellies and faces.
